Once Elektra realized that Matt was not completely like her and did not feel excitement from killing, she defied Stick’s direct orders, stopped trying to corrupt Matt, and removed herself from Matt’s life for 10 years because she thought “he deserved better” than her. Because her upbringing and her treatment by the other Chaste agents made her feel like she was wrong and evil and irredeemable, she valued Matt’s happiness over her own.

She came back to the city when the Hand started moving more heavily in the area and wanted to both warn and recruit Matt into the fight. She had personal reasons too, because she loves him and they have a lot of unresolved shit to work out, but her primary mission was investigating and taking down the Hand. I mean, she clearly plays up her natural playful, chaotic sexiness as a mask to keep people out, but even still she was there on assignment.

1. She literally tries hard not to kill people (IMMORTAL ZOMBIE NINJAS WHO SHOULD BE FUCKING KILLED ASAP OMFG MATT!!!) who are trying their hardest to kill her because Matt asked her not to. 
2. She literally tries to unmake herself and reform into Matt’s morality so that she can be good for him. 
3. She literally always acknowledges Matt’s relationship with Karen as valid and even calms him while he’s worried and helps him find/rescue Karen. 
4. She literally sacrifices her life to show that she can be good like Matt is good. 

But, yeah, Elektra is just a “sociopathic” manipulative temptress bitch who ruins Matt’s life. ok…

PS. Sure, the writers could’ve done better than the trope-y shit they did but damn if they and especially Elodie didn’t give Elektra way more nuance than fandom wants to see.
